Apparel listings get pulled for a predictable set of reasons: unsubstantiated material claims, implied health benefits, and size deception. Here is the 2026 pre-launch checklist.
Marketplace note (Japan): Japanese-language listings are effectively required; JCT (qualified invoice system) affects B2B tax credits from Oct 2023. PSE marking and METI notification apply to electronics; 薬機法 (PMD Act) governs cosmetics and health items.
'100% cashmere' or 'organic cotton' must be backed by a certificate or test report. Vague 'premium fabric' is safer than a false specific.
Avoid 'slimming', 'posture-correcting', 'therapeutic', or 'relieves back pain' unless you hold the relevant approval. These trigger immediate removal in the US and EU.
State the country of origin accurately. For the EU, textile labeling regulation requires fiber composition on the product detail page.
No badges, prices, or 'Sale' stamps on the main image. Keep it a clean product shot on white.
BPA-free is a plastics claim; for apparel it's irrelevant and may read as misleading. Drop it unless the item contains plastic components you've tested.
Only with a recognized certification (GOTS, GRS). Unsubstantiated 'eco-friendly' is a greenwashing risk under EU rules.
Descriptive fit ('relaxed fit') is fine; 'compression that improves circulation' is a medical claim and is not.
Paste the ASIN or draft copy into a compliance scanner that flags claim and category risks against Amazon's policies.
